Step into the 18th Century for a day.
Just a few minutes off the M2 motorway lies the historic Bella Vista Farm set atop a hill. Built in the 1700s, the site’s main attraction is a two storey homestead. The driveway up to the farm is lined with Bunya pine trees and barns that house the sheep and cattle.
Stepping into the farm takes you back to the settlement times as this is one of the few early rural estates remaining. This farm was the first Merino Sheep farm in Australia and played a big part in the Australian citrus industry.
On the first Sunday of each month, there is an Open Day and a market where you can buy fresh produce and crafts. You can bring a picnic or use the BBQ facilities with your friends and families. The workers on the farm engage with the history and wear culturally appropriate clothing to really help you immerse yourself into 18th-century farm life.
The farm also hosts concerts and events on its 20 hectares which can host up to 5000 guests. There is ample parking spaces and clean toilet facilities making it perfect for events on holidays such as Easter and Christmas. Check out Sydney Hills Events for future events.
The farm is welcoming and friendly, providing a safe space for children to explore, play, sit down and draw, and buy hand-made stationery that is sure to reel in the kids’ attention. It is also dog-friendly and you can enjoy a morning tea of tea and scones.
While the outer grounds including the BBQ facilities are available 7 days a week, all year round from dawn to dusk, the Farm House is only open on the first Sunday of every month from 9am to 12pm.
Keep your eyes peeled for future events and visit the Bella Vista Farm for a great fun in the 18th-century with your friends and family.
