Criniti’s Resturant, Castle Hill

Pizza in the Castle Towers Piazza!

Criniti’s extensive menu covers the huge range of Southern Italian dishes and desserts which everyone can enjoy. Located in the Piazza of Castle Towers, this well-known Italian restaurant is always my go-to place for family lunches and dinners.

Situated in the beautiful Piazza, we chose to sit outside to enjoy the lovely sunny Sunday morning weather. Bustling with families, couples, and friends, the outside seating felt just like what a family friendly restaurant was supposed to be – but with the touch of natural lighting. Inside the restaurant is what you will see in their official website photos. With dimmed lights, rustic décor and a bar, it felt as though it was catered towards customers who wanted a more classic dining experience. If you’re coming in large groups, you can book the upstairs area which holds 60 seats by calling the Criniti’s event management.

Food

The full Criniti’s menu is quite big – ranging from steaks and salads to classic pizzas, pastas, desserts and even breakfast favourites. My 10-year-old sister quickly sifted through the kid’s menu and decided to have the kids’ spaghetti and meatballs and the rest of the family shared the pollo e funghi risotto , the nonnacaterina pizza, and the beetroot salad. The waitstaff asked if the food should come out together or in a particular order – which was a lovely service I did not expect. The food was delicious – the risotto was well cooked and the pizza had a chewy yet crunchy crust which I love. Although it was the middle of winter, the heaters that were scattered around the outdoor seating area warmed the dining space without a problem.

Pros & Cons

Crinitis is a very convenient restaurant not only in its location but also their online services through which you can promptly book a time suitable for you. As they are situated in Castle Towers, you can make it an outing and go shopping or watch a movie before or after lunch, utilising the three hours of free parking. The menu is also very accommodating with their children’s menu as well as their vegetarian and gluten-free options. While the price is higher than a casual restaurant (and a Sunday surcharge), if you share your meals and split the costs, the price isn’t as burdensome. Flavour-wise the only complaint we would have is that there was too much goat cheese in the beetroot salad. My family ate around the cheese as the flavour was very overwhelming and we will probably try a different salad next time.

Overall Experience

My family enjoyed the extensive range of delicious and well prepared Italian dishes. We loved the convenience and aesthetic of the location and will definitely be planning another family outing to Criniti’s.
